As we continue to live into our new leadership structure, DUMC’s Ministry Table is ready to take next steps. After a year of experience, we have more clarity on questions we need to answer to increase our effectiveness.

• How do we shape our meetings to best communicate with one another, the congregation and our community?

• Would an executive committee help rather than having just one chairperson? How can we engage in deeper discussion rather than just being a place to report? 

• What requests can we make of SALT so that budgeting for our ministries becomes easier to understand and engage in? 



We are incredibly fortunate to have an excellent consultant working with us to lead our January 17th gathering. Jack Shitama is an ordained UMC minister and currently serves as the Director of the Center for Vital Leadership for UMC churches in DC, MD and DE. Read more about him here. Rev. Rachel and Kathryn have met with Jack once and will meet with him again as we plan for our gathering. We are excited about the gifts he has to offer us with his leadership.
