Church's Major Seasons
Most of the year, we follow the Lectionary (a three year schedule of scripture readings assigned for each Sunday, established by multidenominational agreement). Though sometimes worship may include an inspirational reading from a source outside scripture. At times, we may depart from the lectionary and use scriptures connected with a particular thematic emphasis. For example, in 2010 we had a Summer Series entitled “Then Sings My Soul,” where guest speakers selected passages and readings that tied in with thoughts on how faith and music intersect. Similarly, in the fall of 2009, we did a series on United Methodism’s “Three Simple Rules: Do No Harm, Do Good, Stay in Love with God.”
