Dumbarton's Earth-Day Favor to the Environment

Today's service was an observation of Earth Day.  It took the form of a presentation of Paul Winter's choral work entitled Missa Gaia - Mass for the Earth.  Using various jazz-styles and blending in actual sounds of  whales and wolves, the text was drawn from several traditional elements of the Catholic Mass in Greek and Latin, as well  quotation of the Beatitudes and other passages in english.  The audio statement offered here is a report of the award of a grant to Dumbarton to enable it to reduce its contribution to pollution of Washington's rivers by redirecting runoff from rainstorms.
