Pilgrimage to Scotland

Join us in refreshing our souls in God’s beauty, strength and resilience on a pilgrimage to Iona, a small island on the west coast of Scotland, June 14-24, 2018. Regarded as the spiritual birthplace of Celtic Christianity, Iona has drawn pilgrims since the Middle Ages and calls to us today.

As a community, we’ll travel to Glasgow, Iona, and, yes, Dumbarton. We’ll share in prayer, reflection and learning; participate in the worship life of the Abbey; visit Staffa Island and Fingal’s Cave; go on a pilgrimage walk; celebrate summer solstice; see Glasgow, and; explore Dumbarton Castle. St. Columba Hotel’s organic gardens, eco-friendly policies, and welcoming staff will be our home for most of our journey. You may download the pilgrimage brochure at https://www.gtd.org/post/pdfbrochure/180608.pdf.

The $3,229 cost includes air fare, lodging, most meals, activities, taxes/ gratuities, ground transportation. Registration is at https://www.gtd.org/gtd_registration_step_I.asp?TID=2249.

Co-led by Rev. Dr. Mary Kay Totty and Rev. Dr. Doris E. Warrell, our explorations with include the reflections of poet John O’Donohue who offers us this thought. “The human eye always sees twice in the one look: the thing and the emptiness.” If you are interested in "knowing more" and "seeing twice," join us.
