An inclusive faith community that seeks, serves and celebrates.

Youth

Enriching Young Minds

Youth Sunday School

Each Sunday from 10 – 10:45 am, youth in grades 7 – 12 meet for Sunday School in the parsonage basement classroom.  Coordinated by the youth minister and led by a team of volunteer teachers, this class uses the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum based on the Biblical selections of the common lectionary.

On any given Sunday, the scripture studied in class may also be read during worship and used as a theme in the sermon. Youth are drawn into the lessons by use of Bible, tradition, science, technology, and the arts. Then they're sent out into the contemporary world full of current events, issues, knowledge, and discoveries to test, share, and live out their faith.

Confirmation Class

Led by the pastor and youth minister, confirmation class is usually offered to seventh and eighth graders, beginning in the fall or winter.  Students meet regularly with their mentors and may go on overnight retreats. They're usually confirmed at the early June church retreat at West River.

Youth in Worship

Youth worship each Sunday with the congregation in the sanctuary.  Youth are invited to provide leadership in the service by reading scripture, lighting the candles, distributing communion, providing special music and passing the offering baskets.
