"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, thought many, are one body, so it is with Christ.  For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body -- Jews  or Greeks, slaves or free -- and we were all made to drink of one Spirit."

-1 Corinthians 12: 12-13

Parking in Georgetown is difficult but not impossible.  On-street parking is usually available but sometimes you may have to walk a number of blocks. Plan for a few extra minutes to park when attending an event at Dumbarton. Except for Sunday, on-street parking is restricted to 2 hours. You can obtain a Dumbarton parking sign (available from the church office) for your front windshield window which has been helpful in avoiding parking ticketes for longer periods.

Public Transportation/Walking

Georgetown operates a shuttle service that provides a quick connect between Georgetown and nearby Metro stations. This nonstop express service runs every 10 minutes on Sundays, from 8:00 am to midnight, and even longer hours on other days. Regular fare is $1, but a ride on the easily recognized blue shuttle costs just 35 cents with a transfer slip obtained at the originating Metro stop.

There are two Georgetown Metro Connection bus lines. The Wisconsin Avenue Line, which originates at the Foggy Bottom/ GWU Metro, has a convenient stop on Wisconsin Avenue at N Street -- just one short block from Dumbarton. The M Street Line, from either the Dupont Circle Metro or Rosslyn Metro, has a stop at Wisconsin Avenue and M Street -- a five minute stroll to Dumbarton.

Metro Bus – Take METRO buses 30, 32 or 34 on Wisconsin Avenue NW going toward Friendship Heights.  Pull the cord at N or O Street.  Fare is $1.10 one-way.

For more Metro Bus and Rail information see the WMATA's web site or call them at (202) 637-7000 for directions on other routes.

METRO - Walk 20-30 minutes from Foggy Bottom or Dupont Circle METRO train stations.  Remember to get a bus transfer when before you board the train if you want to take a bus to Georgetown.

Accessibility

To reach the Social Hall, where most activities occur, there is a wheelchair accessible ramp to the right of the church building.  An outside button, located on a pole to the right of the doors, will open the doors.  To reach the sanctuary use the elevator located at the back of the social hall on the level at which you enter.

An accessible bathroom is located near the elevator on the ground level.

Ear phones, pen lights and large print hymnals are available in the back of the sanctuary, near the stairways, on a small book shelf.  Ask the greeter for assistance or help yourself.  Please return these to the bookcase at the end of worship.

Tapes of Sunday worship services are available for people unable to personally attend service.  Contact the church office or dumbartonpastor@yahoo.com.
