Learning and Fun Combined

Junior high and high school students (7th through 12th graders) have an integrated youth program that includes regular Sunday morning sessions (Sunday School) and evening and weekend activities led by our youth minister, Heather Kramer.

Youth Group

Dumbarton’s Youth Group draws youth from the larger metropolitan Washington D.C. area, with youth from D.C.,  Maryland, and Virginia. The group comes together for a variety of service, learning, and fellowship activities.

Here is a sampling of youth group activities:

• Fun. White water rafting, paintball, pizza and movie night, “lock-in” overnight at the church, farewell cook-out for Afghan exchange student
• Helping others. Assembling health kits for Haiti, making sandwiches for the homeless shelter, fixing up the house of older DC residents during “Rebuilding Together”.
• Travel. Mission trips, every two years. Past trips have been to West Virginia, Honduras, and Nicaragua.  Each year the youth group participates in the church ski trip to Pennsylvania and the all-church retreat at West River Retreat Center in Maryland. In 2011, eight youth and adults repaired and renovated homes in West Virginia.
